Not the usualy content I produce, but it's been a long time coming! About a whole year in fact. Let me explain!
For a long time now I've been wanting to make a handful of video centered around the Rural-Urban Proptional (RUP) proposal (sometimes going by it's more accurate name “Flexible District”) Classic CGP Grey Voting Video Style. A style of Proportional Repsentation that takes aspects of other voting systems to make something that might be suitable for Canada. Call it a a homage or a rip off, it's something I've wanted to do for a while.
I’m finally back to producing videos and I’ve made some progress. I’ve posted channel trailer, I’ve made 3 shorts this month, and I have video releasing Friday of me Sucking on Soulcalibur. I’m already on track for my goal of six videos before the end of the year, but we’ll have to see where I’m at in the coming months.
One short I’ve made recently, was me reacting to the state of YouTube and World Entering 2023. Mostly as “in jest” sort of thing, Not very serious tbh:

This is a little frustrating all of these are happening when I decided to try and be more consistent about my content. However, I will not let this deter me. Things can still go in a numerous amount of ways and I can’t get too caught up in all of that.
I’ve long since accepted that there is a possibility that I will never be “big” and I’m okay with that. I’m here for a good time not a long time, so I’m going to put my efforts into make videos while I still can.
On a more positive note, I have plenty of things planned for 2023 video wise. I have several videos written up, others have I’ve been grabbing footage for, and even more ideas I’ve yet write down.
The Soulcalibur video was even an accident as it was botched footage from an other project that I’m working on. So this is a bit of a video to tide people over and hope people will enjoy me sucking at a video game
Depending on how things go I hope to have some of the following done before the end of the year (In no order):
Putting Linux on my 2014 gaming Laptop (Work in progress)
A Video Looking Back on RumbleVerse
Explaining Pokemon Lore
Pokemon Crystal Nuzlocke
And more that are less likely to be this year but we’ll see!
We also recently achieved 400 Subscribers on YouTube! @nemescontent Meaning I’m 100 away from the community tab! While I’ll keep my Long form rambles here (hence the name) I will be posting updates on Youtube through that tab whenever I can. start doing that. If anything, despite the news I think this actually will be a good year for me. Fingers crossed and knock on wood, of course!
I also plan to making a few more blog posts that I’ve been writing up in the background. This includes me exploring what was like doing one of the Spiffing Brits exploits, and some Proportional Representation voting posts. No I’m not kidding.
Nothing major, but I have now activated Email Subscriptions for the blog. This decision came from two main things.
The general engagement of the blogs seem relatively high and wish to the continue writing whenever I have a free moment.
I recently purchasing the 5 year plan to host the blog on Write As for discounted price that works out to $3 per month. This is now way cheaper than twitter blue, and I feel more fulfilled for doing so.
I few blog posts in mind in the future and including extra material for some youtube projects I’m working on. So stay tuned for that either through the fediverse, rss, or now email if you wish.
Youtube Alternatives, and sites in used in addition as a monetary support wether it be donate or subscription sites is something that has always been an interest for me. While I don’t currently have any interest in taking my content seriously much less monetize it, the fact that individuals can make a career out of their work easier than ever with so many different methods, tools and approaches takes up more of my idle scrolling time. Plus, I think if you’re reading this blog you' probably have come to the conclusion that for all of YouTube’s pluses, you still know that hosting all your videos on one platform may not end well. Especially given the recent changes to YouTube’s policy.
So for this blog post I want to talk about some of the alternatives or additional streaming services to YouTube that personally taken an interest in. If but, from a far.

Like literally minute one of the new year, Youtube videos are being changed to Limited Moneitized and Mature content because of new policy changes. Which in typical youtube fashion was not communicated or if it was, it was buried under less iportent update emails like Handle changes. This was first reported by Cr1tical:

Today (December 23rd, 2022) I uploaded a compilation of all the funny bits I did in 2022. It’s quite the accomplishment as I only post about two videos in 2021, plus 1 compilation of all the work the previous years. Now I have 5 videos, plus a handful of original shorts, and this compilation.
There has even had a reasonable increase in viewership. To say I’m grateful, and content with what I have accomplished this year in an understatement as there was a while were I did start to doubt myself. As a celebration I am writing to go over the processes of this year, and what I learned from do them.
This is the Nemes Content Rewind 2022, Because YouTube killed Rewind but it’s still in our collective consciousness!
So every now and again you hear a Influencer or big name state that they need to get off or limit their social media use. Twitter being the usual suspect for a number a reasons. The endless scrolling addiction, the advertisements, Trending praying on what will get engagement the most that usually ends up being negative, and accidentally stumbling upon some of the most garbage takes so bad you think you were in a grocery store of filled with people who never got the memo that no one asked.
And I am still salty about being told the touch grass, espeically when I do, in fact, touch grass but that’s another story.
And I started to recongize this more and more during the (peak of the) pandemic, and noticed that maybe this isn't the best for my mental heath, and I could be using my time on more productive things. Even if that's just unplugging to not overwelm myself and get decent sleep for once. Though like with any addiction or depenancy problem... it isn't easy.
And then Musk bought twitter, and that was my breaking point.
