Update: 2026 9 Month In
You know do want to actually use this site. It's just a shame I suck with any form of consistency ever. So let's give an update on how 2026 has been going.
A Rough Start To The Year
For starters the beginning of this year sucked. I won't get into the reasons but the start of the year was was mentally taxing just within the first few months. Some of this was of this was for personal reasons, and some was just the general state of the world which an additional feeling of dread.
All that happening put me in a depressive slump for a while. This lead me to doomscroll even harder despite me wanting to try and cut back on it and social media use starting this year. It felt easier to do that than anything else, though it mostly just reinforced bad habits and negative thought patterns (A curse of “staying informed”).
Eventually I did manage to crawl out of that slump with the help of friends, DND, and some video projects. Turns out social connection and working towards something partially helps with mental health. If you're a friend or even moot, know I appreicate you. Now I just need to go outside more.
The world still is rough of course, and the future is not looking fantastic, but I am in a mood just doing what I can. Trying to find the little joys in media and tech as usual.
Original Shorts are Indefinitely on Hold
Despite the Sly Cooper shorts helping me get out of my slump, for now I've put a pause to the shorts series. As fun as those are, they're a lot of work for something that is only 1-3 minutes of runtime that has been taking time away from my main videos that I want to create. I still have a Sims 3 and SLAI video that I have promised for more than 2 years now. The reason it's taken so long is a fusion of me burning myself out, personal responsibilities, and my focus on these shorts videos to growth channel.
This was made after the recent youtube update to the partnership program doubling the amount to qualify. I realized that me trying to chase that goal is not for the best. At the end of the day, I want to make videos and I can't do that if most of my time was spent making these little side shorts instead of the bigger videos I've always wanted to create like I'd watch in my childhood.
One day I might come back making those shorts, but there's too much time lost in making them, and that time is limited. This also why I’ve partially abandoned the idea of a second channel. I’ll still use it to throw junk videos or gameplay that might help someone, but it is not a secondary focus I originally envisioned.
I'm also going to be more relaxed about making videos. I still want them to be as good as I can make them but this is not a source of income, and I'm not sure if I even want it to be at this point. I think it's enough if I make videos for my and other's entertainment while I still can.
This isn't a complete stop to shorts. I will still will repackage clips into shorts from the bigger videos as they are a way of getting more reach and I think I'm funny. Hilarious. But if I need to start putting my focus into bigger videos instead of spreading myself across multiple smaller videos so those long form videos are not in production purgatory… so be it.
A Slight Name Change
Some of you may have noticed a change to the channel's name and aesthetics.
I was having problems with the previous name of the channel. For those that don't know, Nemes Content was basically picked in part as a tounge-in-cheek joke in my television program since everyone was using [Name] Productions/Media and I wanted to be the funny on, and I wanted to participate in Post-ironic humor. Though almost 6 years later, I don't like it.
“Content” as terms has been less “a board term for different mediums” and more a “a thing you consume for entertainment.” Sure not everything is high art, but I think by calling the channel “content” off rip cheapens my work and contributes to a disrespect of the artistic works made by humans.
So I went with tapes as if we're watching homemade VHS Movies in a little den. Made some new graphics and to go along with that theme where it's as if you're popping in video type. I think it pairs well with the outros of filming screen as I talk about some thoughts. I think it's a nice aesthetic and represent what I want to do with the channel going forward.
See You When I See You
I want to say I want to use the blog more (and I do), but I keep running into this problem where I keep over estimating how much time I have for everything I want to do. See above about the shorts.
So no promises on more rambles, but when I do write one, they'll get syndicated everywhere like usual. I don't know how long I'll keep rambles going. I know I'll likely not renew my subscription, and I've been trying to make a proper website.
I also plan to link and archive Rambles on my neocities site that I'm slowly building. I'm still learning HTML and CSS but it's coming along nicely when I have the time to work on it. My plan for the site is to be a little hub for updates, thoughts, and resources on static webpage you can follow via good old fashioned RSS and POSSE that offers way more expression than normal social media. May also mirror to NekoWeb but that's in the far future.
Also looking into ways of utilizing Bluesky to my advantage with use of feeds, and I've been enjoying Wafrn as a Tumblr.
That all being said. Take care, and I'll see you in the parts when I see you.
